The wolf released a howl. That sound was one which no other wolf could ever imitate. The howl was filled with both joy and sorrow, relief and mourning, excitement and anger. It was a simple, yet complex sound, so pure. A single, stressed note ringing out and echoing throughout the emptiness of the night. The sound rolled with the hills, swayed with the trees, floated with the clouds. It was a sweet yet bitter sound.
