All the girls they can afford The Superdry dresses and Gucci shoes. I don't know crap about brands For me it's all bad news
I'd rather spend my money On things that are worthwhile. Like food and gas and spoons I don't care about my style
My own mum took me shopping Said I needed to brighten my look I said I'm happy with my greens and browns And I went back to my book.
She dragged my out the door And sat me in the car. Said wipe that frown off of your face We are not going that far.
I stare out the window Think of my novel sat at home. She tries to form a conversation I'd rather be alone
We came back with piles of plastic bags (paid 5p for them each) Mum put me in my new bikini And took me to the beach.
She sat me on a towel Said she'd go and get ice cream. Walked away with a wink and a grin It was weirder than it seems.
A boy approached me, but I ignored I closed my eyes and lay right back. He cleared his throat above me As I was about to hit the sack
I opened my eyes and lowered my glasses, Said, can I help you, dude? He said, I was wondering if you were alone... But I don't want to intrude.
I'm alone, I said, Trying to hide my grin Inside I punched the air in victory I tried hard to keep it in.
Trust your mum, I learned from this Let her buy you all your clothes. Not only do you get free attire But what you will attract, who knows.
