Chapter 3: Welcome to Pandora
The twins listened carefully but couldn't hear any waterfall, not a single drop. They gradually opened their eyes, finding themselves standing on a bumpy rocky path, with lots of beautiful flowers developing around them. "Oh they,re so beautiful, I'd love to live here," said Jasmine in excitement. "Excuse me," Arthur said politely, "where are we." This is the magical land that we call Pandora," Slither replied softly while raising her voice when she came to the word Pandora. "Wow!" the twins felt their clothes and pinched each other to see if they weren't dreaming. The hot spell from the sun was blazing down, sweltering Slither. This is all because of all the layers of clothing she wore underneath the robe. Slither untied the strings and pulled her hood down showing showing her facial features. Slither was a beautiful young woman with green eyes, strawberry red lips, a short pointy nose and bright green hair. The hair wasn't right, it had lots of eyes glaring sharply and tongues poking out every so often. "Ah snakes!" screamed Jasmine. Jasmine sprinted over towards Arthur and hid behind him, while holding tight to his shirt. The snakes unravelled and hissed aggressively. "It's okay, they will not hurt you, I am a gorgon and I am here to help."
Arthur looked around and saw a metal gate in the distance. While sprinting for his life he took Jasmine's hand and hurried down the rocky path, while Slither was standing, watching the twins head towards the gate. "You lot should be ashamed of yourselves hissing for no reason! I was trying to help them. They are the chosen ones. Now when we find them again, you must apologise for what you did!" Slither explained. The snakes bowed their heads and looked at her in shame, while they hissed silently.
Jasmine and Arthur were exhausted by the time they reached the huge metal gate. The gate wasn't shut properly, so the twins pulled with all their might. They managed to budge the gate just enough to squeeze through. On the other side of the gate was a maze that was made out of bricks that were layered over each other to support the wall. The twins looked left and right to decide which way was the right way. "Let's go right?" asked Jasmine. "No left, you always get to choose first," explained Arthur. "Right is always right!" Jasmine yelled. "Fine you go right and I'll go left," Arthur said sarcastically.
The twins turned their backs to each other and gradually took their time down each path, hoping one of them would say "wait for me." They weren't alone in the maze something was following Arthur, which scurried across the damp floor disguised within the colourful leaves. Arthur thought it would have been his sister hurrying to catch up but as he turned, he saw no one. "Jasmine is that you?" Arthur said nervously No answer came calling back to him. Arthur started to panic. "What if she was hurt or captured by Slither." Arthur's brain clicked into gear and he chased after Jasmine. His foot scattered the leaves into the air. All he could see we're lots of leaves floating gently to the ground. All of a sudden something wrapped around his leg climbing up, while clamping his legs together. Arthur looked down to see a green murky vine that had tangled his legs up, so he started to struggle trying to set himself free but as he struggled, the vine tightened. The poor boy began to shout but before the words could come out the slimy vine rapidly smothered his face and pulled him under the bush.
Oh no what's happened to Arthur, will he be found alive? Looked like left was the wrong way after all. Why don,t brothers and sisters get along instead of arguing? Hopefully Jasmine hasn't got herself in a pickle and is this Slither really on their side?
