Part 2: Trouble within the Forest
Rupert was taken deep into the forest; his eyes were stinging, letting out wet tears that trickled down his cheek. The person wore light armour, a green robe with a hood, brown leather boots and around his waist was a belt that carried a long silver sword with an animal's head for the handle. The animal was a golden eagle and the person was an assassin. "I told you not to come out until you are better and fully trained. You could have given me a signal before you threw a smoke bomb?" explained Rupert. "Sorry Rupert but I saw the pack of wolves sniffing the air, so I presumed that you were in danger. I grabbed my stuff and followed the wolves behind making sure the wind wasn't blowing in their direction. I came up to the river, there I saw the wolves packed all around you. I quickly threw a smoke grenade but I did add some chemicals so that it would sting their eyes to have a chance to escape." "Because of you!" Rupert yelled,"my eyes are stinging, I can barely see!"
The assassin took out some eye drops from his pouch then shook the bottle until the mixture was all mixed in. The liquid swayed side to side, while splashing up the sides of the bottle. He squeezed the drops into Rupert's eyes. The liquid began to tingle but soon the pain was gone. Thirty miles away the wolves were trying to keep up by following the scent that's been left behind within the breeze.
The forest became pitch black, so Rupert and the assassin made camp in the middle of the forest thinking they have lost sight of the wolves. Rupert collected twigs and leaves, while the assassin rolled in long pieces of logs to build a hide out to stay over the night. When they finished Rupert sat on a boulder and gazed into the starry sky. Rupert tried to make a picture out of the bright stars, that were burning bright in the twilight sky, but found it really hard.
The little rat became bored and was going to walk off, when a comet speeded past within the sky. Rupert closed his eyes and thought really hard about his wish. The moon glistened down on to the rat.
A shadow stood over Rupert that blocked the light. Rupert opened his eyes very slowly; all he could see was darkness. Something began to move tossing Rupert around and around. Someone began to chuckle, "We have you now rat you cannot escape this time." It was the captain ; he must have followed the scent towards the hideout. The wolves dashed deeper into the forest making their way back with Rupert, who was trapped inside a bag, carried by Fang who was gripping tightly with his sharp teeth. The assassin was sitting down on the log thinking deeply about something. The thoughts were spinning in his head making the room rotate. The assassin shook his head to vanish the thoughts away. He rushed outside for some fresh air. When the assassin made it out he looked around, there was no sign of Rupert. He looked high and low searching through a bunch of flowers, a stack of logs and looked above to see if he's in any of the trees. The little rat was nowhere to be found and the assassin began to panic. "Rupert where are you!" The assassin listened very carefully for a squeak but no answer. Suddenly in the corner of his eye he spotted something that was perched on the edge of a boulder. The assassin sprinted over squinting his eyes, while focusing on the tiny object. There in front of him was Rupert's lucky hat with the bright feather sticking out and next by the hat was dark red blood dripping off the boulder on to the fresh soil. "This is Rupert's lucky hat, he he never leaves it behind." The assassin checked if he had everything on him, then followed the trail of blood through the gloomy forest.
What will happen to Rupert? Will he become lunch or will the assassin rescue the little rat in time and who's this assassin?
