I looked to the stars On a winter night And what I saw is true
A thousand wishes Burning bright In the sky I thought I knew
I heard their whispers Calling out From the sky, so deep and blue
The dreams Of some billion souls Then off into the night they flew.
But the stars Were not so free And they carried such a burden
The tears and cries Of the ones not pleased even though the stars had heard them
So amidst the Dust and delusion Of the twinkling midnight lights
I was taught A greater lesson Which lead me to greater heights
All of us have burdens Though, despite it's weight If we keep on striving, Reaching up...
Those burdens, Make us great.
