Chapter 6
As I slowly drifted out of subconsciousness there was the most wonderful smell, egg, warm milk and rabbit, it must have been all a dream. Strangely there is a stench so strong it could kill a donkey from half a mile away. It's the sock! "Yuck, put it away, I'm awake now".
"She is up" shrieks Cap, nearly deafening me,
"Parva, here is breakfast holding out in front of me a burned piece of rabbit"
"Thanks" I say scanning it to find a patch on it a little less burned. Suddenly Fortis sits down beside me.
"Sorry about, yesterday and earlier today, also the nicknames" he says clearly feeling a little depressed,
"Its ok, but what are the nicknames" I smile trying to turn his frown upside-down.
"Well mine is, Lovefession, a cross between the words love and confession and yours is, KissKat. Cap and Vivos didn't see what happened earlier today. They just thought it sounded good when they were eating their breakfast" he explains. "Now you eat up we have to go hunting for tea" he says quickly, then stands up and goes to talk to Vivos. It takes no time at all to gobble down my minuscule petit déjeuner. So I stand up and stretch since only god knows how long I've been in that position.
"Off you go lovebirds" Cap says in a cheery way, shoves my bow, my arrow sheaf filled with 12 arrows and my game bag into my hands and pushes me towards Fortis that knocks him off his feet and we are both left there smiling on the ground my head on his lap. This is not awkward I think in a very sarcastic tone. I get myself up, I dust myself down and help Fortis to his feet. As we start plodding into the forest as quiet as mice and as silent as rocks, I manage to shoot down a rabbit and a squirrel, when I loaded my bow to shoot down another rabbit Fortis breaks the silence.
"This might sound stupid but, did you mean what happened earlier today, you know when you kissed me when I was on watch" I was scared to answer, because it was completely true, I did mean it, I do love him, but why and come to think about it, I did get a strange feeling inside me I warm comforting feeling and a feeling like that in a cold person like me, could even make the dead cringe. So I better answer.
"Yes of course I did" I say automatically smiling and before he could say anymore I kissed him on the cheek and I put my arm round his waist, I am going to far I think and was going to remove it when he put his arm round mine. Awkward! This carried on for another ten minutes just us two walking around in the woods until there was a ear piecing scream that came from behind us. "That's Cap" we both utter to each other at the same time, then we both turn and bolt in the direction of camp.
When we came near the woods just surrounding the camp, Cap was coming towards us.
"The Caeruleus came" she spoke "Luckily, we got away"
"I am not so sure" I say my eyes darting around,
"What's up Parva" Fortis says me trying to make eye contact with me unsuccessfully.
"Where's Vivos" I say shocked and scared.
