Moments later it started to tipping it down and Mathew hadn't even
started walking towards the Grantham Arms. As he turned to have one last
glimpse at Downton before turning away and becoming a new man and
starting a new life without even thinking about his past he noticed Mary
looking through a gap in the curtains of their bedroom her eyes full of
tears and regret.Mathew thought of a new name to call himself but he
liked the name Mathew but loathed the name Crawley "I got it" he
muttered to himself as he was leaving the grounds of his past "I am
going to be called Mathew Walker,a brilliant name that might fool Mary
if she comes after me" As Mary watched him leave her life she remembered
that what Richard Carliste said as Mathew proposed to her. "I know this
marriage won't work so if you spit up don't come crawling back to me" he
said to her in her head. As soon as she remembered what he said she
found herself running down the staircase out the grand doors into the
rain and ran as fast as her legs in frock could carry her to find Mathew
her true love. "MATHEW" She cried over and over again until her throat
went dry. Mathew who had heard her Woundn't stop until he heard Mary cry
"I LOVE YOU COME BACK" instantly he dropped his suitcases turned and ran
towards to find her in tears, on her knees with her head in her hands.
"Mary" he said and held a cold damp hand towards her, Mary looked up and
took his hand, he stood her up and instantly she hugged him "I missed
you so much, I was a fool to let you leave my life" she whispered to him
so only he could hear after the whole neighborhood was woken up with her
yelling.
