"Lets go back to Downton and forget about this" Mathew said quieting as
they picked up the suitcases one in each hand and made there way up the
path towards home. As Mary opened the door Carson was there holding a
tray of cold tea. "You must get out of those my Lord and Ladyship, don't
say you have fallen into a lake because you look like you have" Carson
stared bug eyed at their soaking clothes. Mary went to here bedroom to
change started to take off her necklace and then remembered she had left
Elizabeth in her crib before she left, she quickly ran over to the crib
where Elizabeth had been put while she packed Mathew's bags to find it
empty. Tears gathered in her eyes once more as she ran out of the room
and yelled "My Lizzie" at the top of her voice. "My Ladyship" A soft
voice cooed to her right. It was Anna and Bates, Anna was holding
Elizabeth and Bates was holding a sleeping new born baby with a head
full of Strawberry blond hair. "Thank You Anna, I am so sorry to
trouble you I just got a bit of a shock to find the crib empty" she said
with a smile on her face even though her face was red and blotchy
because of the tears and took Elizabeth and picked up Elizabeth. "She
was playing with Peter" Anna said and took Peter off her husband. "So"
Mary said confidently " John Bates, Anna Bates and little Peter Bates
what a sweet family"
