And then the realisation of what had just happened hit him. Like a falling building his mind began to crumble.
His feelings began to pour out like water from a broken fish bowl. Slowly but surely, he felt every part of his being drain away and leave him.
'This is it',he said to himself, his heart still pumping boldly.'This is the beginning of the end'.
And as those last few words rolled from his tongue, the sky above opened gloriously.
