Spotlight

I'll never forget the first time I saw her on stage. She shone so brightly, she almost blinded me. Or was that the spotlights. I don't remember.

I do remember the music pulsing through my veins, my heart beating with the music, the way her skirt flares when she whirls, the empty seats, our frenzied minds, her confident smile.

I remember she ran straight towards me after the last note of the song faded. I remember our bodies colliding. I remember feeling her heart beat to the same beat as mine.

I remember knowing, as her gaze flitted to the boy behind me, that she'll never be mine.

(Tried writing from a guy's perspective... Can anyone tell? Lol.)

@turquoisedawn

I write (YA), you read (YAY). Our relationship works that way.
