Chapter 19 The devil was here About an hour had passed, when I heard my mum creep to bed. The house was silent. I needed Lucas; I needed to tell him about what happened… That’s when I heard a faint tap on the window. I looked up to see Lucas, holding onto a tree outside. I got up and opened the window. He climbed in and touched my face. It was wet with tears. I closed the window. “Jane? What is the matter?” he asked, I knew I couldn’t lie to him, with that much evidence on my face. “He was here. He talked to me.” “Who Jane? Who was here?” “Lucifer.” Lucas stared at me in shock. “What did he say to you? What did he do to you?” “He… He said that he’d kill me if I didn’t break up with you. He held a gun to my neck and he left something.” I walked over to my jewellery box and pulled out the piece of paper. Lucas studied the satanic symbol for a few seconds then ripped it up into tiny pieces and threw it in the bin. “He also said he would come back in a few days.” “Did you see him?” “No. He wouldn’t let me turn around.” “I’m not letting you out of my sight.” He said “What about class?” “I’m very persuasive remember” I remembered how Lucas had gotten my mum to agree for me go to Rio with him in the summer. “Good job really.” “Let’s get some sleep its gone 11” “What happens if my mum wakes up during the night?” “I can sense it” I smiled and climbed into bed. I feel asleep almost instantly…
