Chapter 6 Patch and I started to walk back to my summer house. My eyes soon grew droopy and I feared that I would fall asleep walking. “I’m tired” I moaned. Why was I moaning? He couldn’t do anything. “Do you want me to carry you?” What? No I’m way too heavy. “No, I’m fine” He smiled and lifted me into his arms effortlessly. “Go to sleep” He whispered, kissing me on the head. “I can’t. I have so many things to do when I get back” “I’ll do them for you just go to sleep.” Would he? Oh who cares? I snuggled into his chest and fell into a deep sleep. When I awoke, I was in my bed with patch’s arm around me. He lay asleep smiling. What time is it? I wondered as I looked at the clock, 3:38. I had work today, so I wouldn’t be able to see patch much that day. I sighed and fell back to sleep again. “Wakey, Wakey Cassandra” patch said, his voice was a little baby like. It was morning already? “Morning” I replied as I kissed him. “I’ve made breakfast” “Oh my gosh thank you. I’m so tired” I really wanted him to carry me again. He must have read my mind because he lifted me out of the bed and carried me to the dining table. I smiled at him as he put me on the chair. “You love doing that don’t you?” I asked. “Yes, it’s another excuse to hold you” Awwww that’s so sweet. I smiled and kissed him. “Right, breakfast” He said, I giggled. He placed two plates full of pancakes in front of us. One for him and one for me. I loved pancakes they were my all-time favourite food. “Thank you” I whispered before taking my first bite. They were absolutely gorgeous, the best pancakes I had ever had. “Anything for you babe” he replied. Did he call me babe? “Babe?” I asked laughing “Emmmm…. Yeah. Is that ok? I can say something else if you wa-” I cut him off. “No. I mean I like it” He smiled and I giggled. We ate breakfast and talked about ice cream. It was a strange conversation but it made me laugh. Patch walked me to work and kissed me. “Love you” He whispered “Love you too” I said giving him another kiss. I walked into work and found out I was on till duty. Yes. Favourite part of this job. It was a slow day so I spent most of the morning reading my new book, hush hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Ironically the guy in the book was called patch. At around 12:30 a customer in, I couldn’t see his face until he came to the till. My face fell and turned into anger. Tony, my ex-boyfriend stood before me. “Pleased to see me?” Tony asked. Was he metal? “No” I scowled. He frowned. “Cassandra, I’m sorry. I’ve come to make it right with you, I can’t live without you.” I raised my eyebrows. Couldn’t live without me? Come on, he was the worst actor. “You’re going to have to get used to that life because I have a boyfriend.” His jaw dropped. Wait… his jaw dropped why was he so shocked? Did he think he was the only one that could ever love me? “Who?” He seemed furious. “Why would I tell you?” He grabbed my arm and squeezed it tight. Ouch! “Who is he Cassandra?” I wasn’t going to tell him. “I’m not telling you and get off me” Tony let go of me immediately. Cassandra? Are you ok? I heard a voice say I’m fine. Just having trouble at work with a customer. I replied. I couldn’t tell him about Tony. Do you want me to come and take Tony away from you? He already knew about tony. I sighed No I’ll be fine. Are you sure? He asked Yes. But thank you. Your welcome, tell me if he tries anything. Ok. “I’ll find out Cassandra, trust me” And with that, he left. How was he going to find out? He wasn’t that’s how…
