Chapter 7
Patch came to pick me up, when I got off work. I smiled when I saw his face and ran to hug him. “What’s that for?” Patch asked smiling into my neck. His breath was warm and it made me feel happy. “Because I love you” I laughed “I love you too” He let go of me. We walked down the street hand in hand talking about angry birds, the iPhone game. Then I noticed something I didn’t want to. Tony on the other side of the street, staring at me. I didn’t want him to know he was there, but he knew I knew. He was following me and Patch. That idiot! “Is that tony?” Patch whispered. Gosh he was good at mind reading. “Yes” I replied. “Not much of a man is he if he’s on the other side of the road. If he wants you he doesn’t have to be a stalker. And no offense but he doesn’t look like much either” I laughed loudly, Patch smiled. “Act as if I’ve just said something funny and it will kill him. At the moment his pain is making me laugh.” “Patch don’t be cruel” I said. But I was laughing. “Yeah well that just made him wanna kill me” He laughed. “Hey, do you want me to stay with you again tonight?” “Yeah.” I smiled and blushed “Why do you ask? You knew I’d say yes” “Tony. He’s going to try and get you back tonight at around nine” I sighed. “Oh my gosh. Why won’t he leave me alone? I have you and I’m happy.” “The guy is an idiot” Patch exclaimed. “Yeah you got that right. And yeah can you stay?” Please….. “Sure. He needs someone to teach him a lesson” He cracked his knuckles. I looked at him in shock. “I’m joking Cassandra” I breathed a sigh of relief. At around 8:45, I was lay on patches side, on the couch watching the black and white version of wuthering heights. Patch was stroking my hair and I was cuddling him. “She’s a bit stupid, isn’t she?” Patch laughed. “Who is?” Ok, that made me sound stupid. “Cathy. She too selfish to notice Heathcliff” oh… I pictured me and patch in that scenario. Nope wasn’t going to happen. I couldn’t leave him and marry someone else. “That’s very true” I finally answered. We giggled and then heard a knock at the door. “That will be tony. I’ll answer it” Patch said. He stood up and I followed him to the door. I dreaded what was going to happen… “Hello” Tony growled, when he saw Patch. Why was he doing this? Tony didn’t want me, well he didn’t want me when he kissed my best friend. “Hello” Patch replied. Please don’t start a fight Patch. He wasn’t listening “Is Cassandra there?” Tony spat. I walked from behind patch. Cassandra. Patch moaned. I could see he didn’t want me near Tony. “I’m here” I said. I knew Tony wasn’t expecting patch to be there, it was like he didn’t know what to say. “I’d like to talk to you.” His eyes rolled at patch “Without him” I didn’t like his attitude, it made me want to scream. “Anything you say to me, you can say to Patch” Ha. Got a problem with that Tony? “I think not” Tony growled. What? “Well go away then” Patch hissed. Thanks patch. “No! You go away. She was mine first” Wow fight. I didn’t want this to get any uglier. “Well Cassandra is mine now” Patch replied in an angry tone. “Come with me Cassandra” Tony grabbed me by the arm and pulled. Patch stopped him, pulled me away from tony and put me behind him. “Touch her again and ill rip your head off your neck” Darn what do I do? “Wanna bet?” Tony, you shouldn’t have said that. Patch smiled. I knew what he was thinking. He was a wolf for god’s sake. He’d kill Tony in an instant. Stop this now Cassandra! My brain screamed. “No. stop” I cried. Patch turned to me and frowned. “I’m sorry Cassandra” He whispered before kissing me on the head. I looked at Tony who had hatred in his eyes. “Do you have anything else to say Tony?” “If Cassandra won’t come then no I do not” Tony left and Patch shut the door. Thank the lord. He’s gone. “Thank you” I whispered before kissing him. “You’re welcome and I’m sorry for threatening to rip your ex-boyfriends head off but he deserved it for what he was thinking.” “What was he thinking?” I asked confused. Actually I don’t wanna know. “Let’s just say I’m not leaving you alone until he leaves town” Yes! I wanted him here all the time. I smiled and yawned. “Bed I think” He whispered. Yep. “I think so to” We walked off to bed and fell asleep. His arms wrapped around me protectively…
Chapter 8 He ran for me. Tony. A knife in his left hand. I ducked away from the swing of his knife. Patch, where was he? Tears rained from my eyes, I knew I was never going to see patch again so I stopped and let Tony cut my throat… I woke up screaming. Patch shot up from his sleep and grabbed me. I stopped screaming. Thank god, Patch was here beside me, holding me. “Cassandra!” He shouted “Are you alright?” Patch looked shocked. Now I felt stupid. “It was just a dream. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” I cried, my breath was short and painful. “Some dream. Do you want to tell me about it?” Patch would stay up and talk to me at like 3.00am? “It was stupid really. You weren’t there and Tony slit my throat. I know it’s stupid, I didn’t mean to wake you in the middle of the night for that” “Babe, you woke up screaming. You’re scared of him. Don’t apologise for that” He whispered. I smiled. Gosh he was so sweet. “Thank you” I replied “And don’t thank me either” He smiled. Oh my gosh, I so loved him. “Alright. Is it ok if my lips thank you?” I bit my lip, darn I shouldn’t have said that. “Yes” I leaned in and kissed him. His tongue traced my bottom lip so I opened my mouth slightly, letting him enter. He pulled me closer to him and we lay down on the bed. I knew what was going to happen. Did I want it to happen? “Emmm… patch? I don’t think I’m ready for this” I whispered. “I understand” He replied and kissed me quickly. Way to make him angry Cassandra! My brain said. But he doesn’t seem unhappy. “I’m going to get a drink of water. Do you want one?” I asked. Darn I’m so stupid. “I’m fine thanks” He replied. I got up and walked to the kitchen. Something was wrong, I could just feel it. Ok… I realise that sounds insane but I felt like someone was watching me. I stretched up and grabbed a glass from the cabinet before filling it with fresh, clean water. That’s when I heard someone sigh. I spun around to find Tony. “How did you get in?” I squealed. Fear consumed me. “The window, it was open” Tony whispered in a cruel voice. Patch. “What do you want?” He touched my face but I pulled away. How was I getting out of this? He had me cornered in my kitchen. “You” He was inches away from me now, his hands on the counters, on either side of me. My head set off a panic. Get out of there Cassandra! Move now! Now my brain tells me. Then I saw hope. Patch stood in the doorway. “Get away from her” Patch roared. I saw Tony grab a knife from the kitchen side. My eyes widened. He grabbed me, stood behind me and hovered the knife over my neck. Eekkk! “You don’t want me to hurt her do you?” Please don’t I like my head on my neck. “Please. Don’t” Patch held up his hand and stepped forward. Tony pulled the knife closer to me. “Don’t come any closer.” “Get off me tony” I shouted. That was courage, where did that come from? “No darling” Darling? Why the hell did he just call me darling? “Don’t call me darling” I hissed. “This knife says I can” He pulled it even closer. That was when patch jumped for Tony. I saw blood and passed out…
Chapter 9 Ouch! My head hurt and I was disorientated. I looked around, I was in a room. A white room. Oh god am I dead? No I’m not. Where am I? What’s white and clean and smells like bleach? Hospital. Oh god that’s not good. “Oh my gosh thank you. Cassandra your awake” Patch said, nearly jumping with joy. I looked over at Patch and you could tell he hadn’t slept. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like he was going to cry. “I am?” I asked. “Yes you are” Patch replied. “So I’m not dead” this wasn’t all a dream? I wouldn’t suddenly go back to the girl crying on the bathroom floor because of Tony? “No you’re not” Oh my gosh, thank the lord. I grabbed Patch and held him tight. Please don’t leave me. I thought I would never do that. He replied and let go of me. “What happened to me? How long have I been here? Where’s tony?” He sighed. Why did I ask that last question? I didn’t care as long as he was out of my life. “Ok… one question at a time.” He laughed. “What happened to me?” I questioned, serious. “Cassandra, you were stabbed in the shoulder” I was what? My shoulder had a large white bandage on. “But you passed out and have been like this for almost 24 hours.” Patch carried on. “Where’s Tony?” That pathetic little weasel did this and I hope he’s dead. “I’m sorry he’s still out there, somewhere.” What? Wait… that wasn’t out loud. “What?” That’s better “He’s gone crazy. He said he’s going to kill you, if you don’t be with him again” Tony get this into your head… I don’t want you. “I don’t want him, I want you” I cried. “I’m glad. I will protect you I promise.” Patch kissed me passionately. We were in public but I didn’t care, I loved him too much. “Thank you” “You’re welcome baby. But next time I’d rather your lips did the thanking.” I kissed him again. Awwww I loved him. Correction I love him. “That enough thanking.” I said, smiling. “Nope” We kissed for a third time until I noticed the nurse walked over to us… “Hi, I’m Nurse Wendy. I’m glad you’re awake Cassandra you gave your boyfriend quite a fright. He was shouting at us for not taking better care of you and then he kept asking when you would wake up” I looked at Patch, he smiled and mouthed ‘I love you’. “Well you can go home now. Just don’t pick up anything heavy, have lots of rest, maybe stay off work for a few days and take these, to relieve any pain” Wendy held up some tablets and I nodded. “Ready to go?” Patch asked. Defiantly. “Yes” I replied. Patch helped me off the hospital bed and we said goodbye to Wendy before exiting the hospital…
