Lunar love Preface

It was Monday and id just left town to go to my summer house. Alone. I sighed. I’d just broken up with my boyfriend, Tony, he had broken off the relationship. I sighed again. Tony, my first boyfriend, the love of my life. But I’m not going to think about him though; I’m going to concentrate on summer and my job. The sun shone through my car windows, as I drove into the driveway of the summer house. My jaw dropped as I looked upon the scene before my eyes. The house was enormous and it had a lawn that stretched at least 25 metres. There were a few trees and beautiful vines clung onto one side of the house. I got out of the car and grabbed my suitcase before running inside. Excitement bubbled up inside of me. A whole 6 weeks with a summer house all to myself. Maybe this would be a good thing. I unpacked my things and decided I needed an early night. Work was in the morning. I was working at a clothes shop and I couldn’t wait to start my first day…

Chapter 1 I woke to a mysterious sound. A howl. Wolves, I loved them, they were part of the reason I got a summer house here, in Lena falls. I got up and walked to the window. The howling got louder and I saw a beautiful mocha coloured wolf with amazing yellow eyes. He was three times the size of a regular wolf. His beauty took me by surprise. We stared into each other’s eyes until another howling started. The wolf took off into the night. Would I see my wolf again? My wolf? I liked that ‘my wolf’. As I lay down on my bed I prayed I would see my wolf again. I drifted off, dreaming about my yellow eyed wolf. That morning, I got dressed and walked to the corner shop. I picked up some milk, bread, that morning’s newspaper and a packet of mocha (like coffee and hot chocolate). “You don’t look very familiar, are you new here?” Asked the shop keeper. I looked up. She had long, shiny black hair and pale blue eyes. “Yes.” I replied “I’m only here for the summer. I’ve just bought the summer house” There was only one summer house in Lena falls. “You bought the summer house? Oh my gosh. I’ve always wanted go live there” I smiled and nodded. “What’s your name?” She asked. “Cassandra. What’s yours?” “Aysha” she replied. “What a lovely name” I said. she smiled like she’d never heard that before. “Thank you. And yours.” I paid and said goodbye to Aysha. Just as I was walking out a guy walked through the door. His eyes were yellow and he had mocha brown hair. We stared into each other’s eyes until he walked further into the shop. He reminded me of the wolf I saw last night. Just like the wolf, the man’s beauty took me by surprise. When I was halfway home, I heard someone call out my name. A man. I didn’t know any men here. “Cassandra” I turned. Running down the road was the yellow eyed boy. How did he know my name? “Yes?” I said. “You dropped this” He handed me a ten pound note. My jaw dropped slightly at his kindness, anyone else would have taken it. “Oh my gosh thank you” I exclaimed. “You’re welcome” He replied. His voice was so soft; I couldn’t say or do anything, only stare into his eyes. “Hey, I’ll see you around” That was it he just turned around and left. “See you around.” I called back. Ughhh! Stupid girl. My head screamed. I didn’t get his name or ask him how he knew mine. Well he said ‘see you around’ so I could get his name then couldn’t I? Yes of course I could. I smiled at the idea. I carried on walking home, my thoughts on the mysterious yellow eyed boy. In fact my thoughts on the mysterious yellow eyed boy carried on all though work, that’s when I decided I needed to have a walk down the beach…

Chapter 2 I slipped off my sandals as soon as I got to the beach. The cold sand sat between my toes as I silently inhaled and exhaled. The sky was midnight black. Picking up my sandals I walked down the sand and took a seat in the middle of the sand. There was nobody about so I decided it was safe to close my eyes and just enjoy the sweet smell of the beach. Seconds later I was tapped on the shoulder. I spun around to find the yellow eyed man. “Mind if I join you?” He whispered. I shook my head. He sat next to me, his hands almost touching mine. His face was flawless. “Hi” I mumbled. I could never compare with him. Why was he even sat next to me? “Hey” he replied. “I like your eyes” I said. “Thanks. I like your hair” What? He liked my Hair? That was just a reply, nobody liked my hair. It was ginger. Everyone always teased me about it. I frowned “Really… It’s like a fiery colour. Lovely. It really suits you” I blushed and hid my face with my hair. Was he flirting? With me? “Thanks” I said through a smile. “What did you say your name was again?” He smiled. I didn’t even know his name. “I thought you’d ask me that” What type of an answer was that? “Why do you want to know?” He said. What? What? What? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that as an answer. “Emmm…. I… I want to have something to call you” I lied. I really just wanted to see if his name was a beautiful as his face. He gave a massive grin, as if he had read my thoughts. “Ok… its patch” He laughed “Not a very nice name I know but-” I cut him off. His name was in fact as beautiful as his face. “No. I like it. Patch.” I smiled “Nice name” I’d always loved the name patch. Ever since I was young id imagined it as a name for an angel. How right was i? “Thanks Cassandra” Patch was still smiling. “How you know my name?” I asked, my voice was a whisper. “You bought the summer house, next to the forest right?” he relied. “Yes” What did that have to do with him knowing my name? “The man who sold it to you is my father” oh. Well that explains that the. How old was patch? Surely he wasn’t 18. 20 maybe, but not 18. Best way to get my answer was to ask him… “How old are you?” My voice begged that he was 18. “You’re full of questions. I’m 18” Oh my gosh! He was the same age as me. He smiled. “Now my turn to ask some questions” “Ok….” I replied. What was Patch going to ask? “Do you have a boyfriend?” What? Out of all the questions he could ask, he has to bring up boyfriends. “Emmm… No, not anymore” I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. “Will you be my girlfriend?” What? How long had I known him for? A few hours? Less? “I… I… Emmm… Yes” Wait… What did I just say? It was his eyes they drew me in and made me say things. Everything went silent until he leaned in to kiss me. I didn’t know how to react. “Patch” Someone shouted. He growled. Wait… growled. How did he do that? “I’ve got to go” He whispered, he got up and placed a kiss on my forehead. “I’ll meet you here tomorrow night at 8.00pm.” “Ok. Night patch” “Night Cassandra” I sighed when he left. He made me feel good about myself in a way that Tony never could. I got up and walked back to the summer house. My thoughts were about Patch that night. Was this moving too fast? No. it was a small relationship that I don’t think will get much bigger. I sighed…

Chapter 3 I saw him again that night. My wolf. His sparkling eyes watched me as I pulled back the curtains. I smiled and my wolf smiled back. That’s when I noticed something. Something that shocked me. The wolf had a small white patch on his right shoulder. Patch. Oh my gosh. What was I thinking? Ok… There was a wolf that looked exactly like my boyfriend and this wolf had a patch on his shoulder. But that didn’t mean patch was a wolf, did it? No, it didn’t. I was being stupid. Extremely stupid. Werewolves didn’t exist. The wolf looked at me, his smile turning into a frown and then he turned and ran into the forest. I woke up at 10am. Realising I had no work that day I decided to have a walk in the forest. I needed to see my wolf again. I put my shoes on and walked out the door with a huge smile on my face. Would I see him? The wind whistled and hissed in my ear as I walked. Tap Tap Tap. What was that? Then it hit me, literally. It started to rain. I laughed. “Great” I moaned. I’d only come out in a t-shirt and shorts so the rain bounced off my skin and made me cold. I ran to the closest tree and took cover. That’s strange, I thought. Lena falls is known for its sun not its rain. I fell the slightest push on my arm so I jumped and turned around to find the wolf. Oh my gosh, he was nearly as tall as me. His head was level with my neck. My heart began to pound against my chest in fear. He pulled back, sensing my distress. Was he going to hurt me? He shook his head. My eyes widened. Did he just-? No, he couldn’t have. Cassandra someone said in my head. Oh my gosh. “I’m seriously insane” I thought aloud. The wolf sighed and walked around to my back before pushing me. I walked forward until the wolf was in front of me. I followed him. We were soon at a large house. It looked really expensive and resembled something like the Cullen’s house from the twilight movies. I wondered why he had taken me here. I knew it wasn’t the house of vampires because they didn’t exist so who’s house was this? Mine. I heard a voice say. I looked at the wolf. “Are you trying to scare me patch?” Patch???!! What the hell? The wolf smiled and nodded. “Your names patch? Or you’re trying to scare me?” I questioned the wolf. He nodded and then shook his head. So his name was patch but he wasn’t trying to scare me that’s good. “Do I know you?” Gosh I really was insane talking to a wolf. Oh yes. He thought. Oh god, I thought. I knew who he was. “Why do you want me here?” I asked. The wolf didn’t answer, that’s when I passed out…

Chapter 4 When I awoke I was in my room. Ughhhhh strange dream, I thought. I looked up and found patch stood in the doorway. What? Patch was stood in my doorway? How? “Wow” I said as I sat back. My head was overflowing with questions. “How did you know where I live? How did you get in here? Why are you here? What happened?” He smiled. Ok… now I’m scared “You’re not going to murder me, are you?” he laughed. “No” He replied. My next question was a bit harsh but I had to know if I should run or not “You’re not going to r
