Chapter 8 I woke on a hard, concrete floor. It was hot, way too hot, and the room was lit by red lights. Where was I? My head hurt. I got up off the floor and spun around to see where I was. There, on the floor, chained to a wall was Matthew. I ran to him. “Matthew. Please be alive Matthew. Wake up. I love you, you can’t die now” He slowly flickered his eyes open. I grabbed his face and kissed him. “Thank god your alive” The floor started to shake and fallen angels started to appear before us. “Oh my gosh” “Stay close to me” Matthew said and he held me tight. “Just let her go. You won’t be able to save her” Matthew tried to open up his wings but yelped in pain. “They don’t work here and neither does your strength so you won’t be able to get out of those chains” One of the fallen angels said. “You can’t have her” “Oh no we don’t want her, she’s dead now. Job done, you can’t get her out of here. We just want her to suffer, in front of you” “Don’t touch her” “Just grab her guys, he can’t stop you” A man walked up to me and tried to drag me away…. I held tightly to Matthew and he held onto me. “Come on girly” He pried my hands off of Matthew and threw me to the floor near one of the other fallen angels. Matthew struggled to get out of the chains, but he failed. He didn’t give up. The fallen angel picked me up off of the floor. “I want to see Alonzo” I said. They all laughed. “Let me see him” “He’s coming soon. Just wait here” “No need to wait, I’m here now” Alonzo announced. I walked up to him. “It’s like hell in here” They all laughed. I slapped him across the face. “What was that for?” “Get us out of here NOW” I shouted. “No can do” He said. “You’re dead, sorry to break that to you” “I don’t care, get us out” I was about to slap him again, but he grabbed my wrists and held them above my head. Ouch. He squeezed tight. Alonzo kissed me, but I pulled back and spit in his face. “Don’t be like that” He whispered. “You kissed me” I shouted, accusingly. “But you’re still my girlfriend” “You think that I’d ever want to go out with you again? Delusional” “I’m pretty sure you said you would go out with me and you kissed me” He smiled. “Well here! I do not want to go out with you EVER AGAIN! Got that?” “Fine with me, but any time you want to stop the torture these guys put you through, you can always go out with me” “Never” “Sure thing. Right which one of you wants her” Fallen angels gathered around me. “Don’t let them touch her Alonzo or when I get out of here I will-” Matthew was cut off by Alonzo. “What are you going to do? You actually think you will get out of there? Stupid angel! She will have to turn to me before you will get out” “Don’t let them touch her” “Awwww you stupid angel you love her, don’t you? I can see it in your eyes” “Of course I do” Alonzo let go of me. “Opps sorry my hands slipped” The fallen angels grabbed me and started to scratch me. They tore at me clothes and stabbed me with knifes. “Stop this Alonzo” I heard Matthew shout. The chains that held him back were rattling; he must have been trying to get out. Alonzo just laughed. One fallen angel grabbed a chain and wrapped it around my neck, I started to choke. “Alonzo stop them” “Why would I do that? This is so much fun” “Alonzo please. I’m begging here” He continued to laugh. “Alonzo stop them” I screamed loudly when one of them dug a knife into my left leg. “ALONZO! YOU STUPID, STUPID FALLEN ANGEL! GET HER AWAY FROM THEM. THEY ARE HURTING HER” “Ughhh so annoying, let her go boys” They walked away from me. Alonzo pulled the chain from my neck and I dropped to my knees panting. “Amy!” I crawled over to Matthew and he pulled me close. “I won’t let you go again” “Boys I say we leave them. We will be back soon” Alonzo and the fallen angels walked off… Matthew put his arm around me and I cried on his shoulder. We sat there in silence for what seemed like hours. “Ughhh you know what I’ve had enough of this” I got up and moved Matthew out of the way a little. He looked at me confused as I held his chains in my hands. “What are you doing?” I ignored him and found the chain attached to the wall. It was only a loose knot why couldn’t he get through it before? “I deserve this Amy, I let you die” I undid the knot and pulled the chains off of him. “How did you do that?” “It was just a knot” I replied. “What is happening to me? Why couldn’t I do that? I should be protecting you” “Your weak, it doesn’t matter” “It matters, I could have saved you” A tear rolled down his face. “All that matters now is that I love you and that we get out of here” I said softly before kissing him. “I’m sorry. Let’s go. Oh and Amy” I looked up at him “Love you too” He took my hand and we got up…
