Jane McDonald put down the family's phone, " hurry now children we don't want to be late, your grandfather is waiting for you!" Jane hurried all her seven children into there new car and waved goodbye. When her children arrived at there grandfathers he was smoking a cigar leaning on his wooden window gazing into the view of shewberry village. "Come now children" he said as he lead them to the family room and sat down. He looked up into seven young eyes, "Now," he said " who wants a story?"
.•*Chapter One*•.
"My name is Lucas Wilber McDonald . I was just eight years old when I first met a unicorn, that was forty-five years ago I am now fifty three years old ! I grew up in a mounting highland village called Bloomsburg, we liked to think that it was just big enough to call it a town. Hidden away in a remote valley, well it was home that's all it needed to be called for me." Lucas stopped and took an glass then filled it with whiskey. He had a small sip then carried on with his story. " It might seem to travellers that it was far to hidden or sleepy too anything of any significants ever to have happened here. Not so, for something significant actually out of the blue did happen , something both wonderful and dreadful at the same time. For me as a child that place was my whole world . A place full of adventure and familiar wonders! Being an only child I spent most of my time wondering about the mountains and running through the forest hunting for bugs and creepy crawlies, everything which a young boy full if youth would be expected to do! I also like to wonder through the village, I knew every cobble alleyway , every stone, crack and Nook! I knew every lamppost out side houses and who lived inside them too- and there pets , dog or cat I knew it all! The great thing about it was they knew me too. From my old bed room window I could see basically all of Bloomsburg and the mounting from what the water flowed into the great Adam lake. I loved it there! In the morning I loved to watch the swallows drift in the sky singing all morning it was like music too my ears , they uses to swoop all around the church's clock tower nesting right at the top where the bell hung. After school on Tuesdays me and my old mates used to throw bread in the bell room and all the swallows all came flying in at once taking as much as the could scooping big bits of bread up in there beaks so that they could feed there growing families." After losing his breath Lucas stopped once again and took another sip of his drink.
