Drip drop drip My tears fall of my cheek As I sit here waiting Waiting Waiting for the news That the war is at an end
March on March can hear him stomping Chanting proud but scared Scared Scared of going to war My son was scared from the first day
War guns war I hear the radio “A boy killed by bullet Bullet Bullet killed boy in trench” I cried “please don’t be my son”
Knock thump knock The door banged loud I was stuck to the floor frozen Frozen Frozen was my heart When I heard that terrible sound
Step stomp step I carried myself to the door And standing there were solders Solders Solders standing mad with grief I knew why they had come
Silence bang silence I dropped to the floor With his death he took my soul Soul Soul if he is in heaven When he lays dead on the ground
Boom fire boom I hear him as he falls Dead as a dog he shot Shot Shot believing it was honour Being possessed by us all
They thought we were the evil ones But there equally as bad For when the British shot my son They took me down as well
