The knight was brave and quite bold Upon his strong fast mare But there speed did not compare To the evil hooves so cold The horrid one named death
From this world he would depart In spite all this he knew He had one last job to do A job that comes from the heart Death could not stop him now
No enters the forest For something haunts it so horrid
Why home the innocent one A gallant solider of good Who was riding in the wood And fighting under the son Defending the great king
He was stabbed right in the back By a double crossing man Then from the battle he ran So he would not get attacked Leaving the knight to die
No enters the forest For something haunts it so horrid
The knight arrived in the woods To a cottage old and small Where grey cobwebs line the hall And where the rickety stairs stood He felt safe to be home
He saw his family that knight And explained that he must go His horses head hung low As he went away to fight A chill filled his bones
No-one enters the forest For something haunts it so horrid
Death was there ready to fight Standing tall the knight breathed still Death cried “you are my next kill You will not win this night” But the knight still tried
Now he walks the woods so dark The battle forever goes on This earth he is stuck upon His mournful cry leaves its mark His death cry he made that night
No-one enters the forest For the night haunts it so horrid
Moral: there is no moral except for this, death will get you in the end.
