I was born in the city. And that's where I was made.
Grew up in the City. And that's where I get paid.
Made my home in the city. In a house made of bricks.
Learned some game in the city. Learned some treacherous tricks.
When I breathe in the city. It burns in my lungs.
In the pits of the city. Now I'm climbing the rungs.
I said mama please help me, and this is what she sung.
Boy you're too quiet, sort out your head. It's three in the morning, You should go to bed.
Start your life in the city. Accept a routine.
I said mama, I'm trying...
She said...
Shut up and eat your greens.
In the cold dirty city. Things will never be clean.
In the dark lonely city. Learn to read in between.
Watch your back in the city. Danger lurks on every street.
I'm a child of this city. I could never retreat.
Love and hate in the city. It's such a messy game.
Lost some friends in this city. Now they're chasing fame.
Broken dreams in the city. It's a stench in the air.
But I move on in the city. As if I did'nt have a care.
When it feels like too much And I've had enough
I turn off the news, cease with the rues
And sing the dirty city blues.
Dirty City Blues. • Opuss № I
