Ikuo Yokoyama from Japan lost almost all of his possessions (< thats a lot of S's). After the Tsunami hit Japan.
He lost his home and his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle. But guess what?
A year after the bike was washed out to sea. It's been found in a container that washed to shore...In Canada.
Ofcourse it was pretty much rusted and unrideable. But the guy who found it on the coast of British Columbia actually took the time to trace the plates and contact a local tv station to track down Ikuo.
I dont know how many miles it is from Japan to Canada. But I still think it's a pretty amazing story.
When I was a child I remember my uncle's funeral. He was cremated and we went to the ocean to scatter his ashes. I did'nt get it.
I'm not particularly religious.
But in hindsight. I guess it was some form of liberation. Well as liberated as someone can be in death.
He was born on a tiny island where he lived all of his life. I guess he did'nt get to see as much of the world as he would have hoped.
Like the motorbike I hope he travelled the seas before eventually dissolving into the ocean and back into nature again.
