Chapter 2:
"Maddy! Maddy!" The interviewers call after me as I make my way to the exit door.
"That was some excellent swimming you did there!"
"And you're only fifteen years old!"
"You did really great!"
They all shout various comments like these at me but I only smile and say, "Thank you."
"What was going on in your head out there?"
"My country was depending on me, and so was my mum. She's my inspiration." I answer with a smile.
"And?"
"Just a lot more of random things. It was all quite funny actually." I answer with a light laugh.
"Anyone else?"
Wow, I think to myself. These interviewers sure are determined.
"Uh, what do you mean?"
"No special someone?"
"Oh!" I laughed. So this is what they want. "No, none yet."
"Are you sure?"
I laugh again. "Yeah, I'm sure." What. A. Lie.
"Haven't you had your eye on one specific athlete around here somewhere? Maybe someone in the diving team?" The interviewers press on.
I smile. "They're pretty hot, aren't they?"
"So there is someone?"
Yes, as a matter of fact, I thought to myself. But I wasn't gonna say that out loud, no. So instead I said, "Nah. But who knows, right?"
With that, I reached the exit door and went into my room with only one person inside my head.
Tom Daley.

TOM'S POV
"Tom! Tom!" The interviewers call after me after my practice. I sigh and turn around.
"Yes?"
"How big do you think your chances are of winning the Gold Medal?"
"No one knows for sure, really. We can only hope."
"How would you celebrate if you won the Gold Medal?"
"Oh wow, I can't even imagine winning the Gold Medal. I would probably just go running around screaming for a few weeks. Maybe even more, but who knows?" I answer with a laugh.
"So have you had you eye on specific girl at the moment?"
I smile as I picture her face in my head. As I close the space between me and my room door I say, "Maybe."
I'm unable to draw back my smile as I look at the TV screen in my room, flashing her face. She won the Gold Medal.
Maddy Hopson.
