Chapter 3:
MADDY'S POV
As I was on my way to the pool to practice, I passed Tom Daley in deep conversation with another person I did not recognize along the hall. As I got closer I recognized the man he was talking to as Peter Waterfield. They must be discussing strategies for the synchro diving, I thought. Maybe I shouldn't disturb them. Meters away I decided that I should just act cool and ignore them like I didn't have a clue who the fuck they were when in reality the sight of Tom made my mouth water. Tom had his back to me, but when I passed by him he stopped talking abruptly and I felt his eyes burning onto my back.
It took all my willpower not to turn around.
TOM'S POV
Peter and I were just discussing our strategy for the synchro diving when suddenly Maddy Hopson walked by. I immediately stopped talking and couldn't help but stare at her back. She was roughly five inches shorter than me and damn she was hot. I was kind of disappointed when she didn't look back, but my eyes followed her until she turned the corner and Peter snapped his fingers in front of my face.
"Tom are you still there? God." he said.
"Uh, what?'' I closed my mouth and shook my head. "I mean, yeah. Of course."
Peter smiled. "Was that Maddy Hopson?"
''Yeah, I think so. Why?'' I asked, genuinely confused.
''You looked funny when you saw her.'' Peter said with a smirk.
I looked at him in shock. ''What? No I didn't!''
"Oh, but you did." Peter laughed. "You really did."
"No I didn't!" I argued.
"Yes you did."
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did."
"What does it matter anyway?" I ask, annoyed.
"You like her." Peter said, smirking.
"No I don't."
"Yes you do."
"No I don't!"
"Yes you do."
"I said I don't like her, okay?" I shouted. Wow, that came out much louder than I meant it to.
"You keep telling yourself that, Tom." Peter said before walking away with a victorious smile plastered on his face.
Oh God, this can't be happening. What if Peter tells the rest of the team and they tease me with Maddy around? Fuck.
But that's exactly what happens.
