25 December 2012
Crickets and fireflies,
I once knew whose eyes I saw.
Now those slits of honey
And caves of blacken rage,
No they don't hold me in sight;
But I recall so vividly,
Watching you shatter at my side
When we had to say those godawful words.
Don't you say it this time.
Please, just be who I adore.
Stay who you are, my child,
And hold on to my fragile hands.
I know you feel lost,
But let me be the one to guide you
This time to the Shores,
To where we sat at night,
Danced in thunderstorms,
And loved in the moments
The rain slipped over our heads.
Let me take you back to where
You screamed you wanted to be:
Here, at my trembling side,
At my fingertips laced
In soft touches and soothing holds.
Sunsets, I see them.
The moon I bathe again.
And who you are I most
Love selflessly.
I am sure you lit my flames
And made me the Phoenix
I have become.
