I stood at the shore of a small island, the tide was lapping at my legs but I didn't bother to move, I was soaked through to the bone anyway. Seaweed was draped across my shoulder and around my back like a green moss- textured scarf. I turned around and looked back out towards the sea. More waves were approaching, their height was increasing and the sea had a darker tint to the water. I walked towards the sand which was dried out from the heat of the boiling sun. As I kept walking the sand turned to stones, then soil, then finally grass. I couldn't quite recognize the island, although I knew the whole of the Eastern Kingdoms and had travelled through them more than enough times. I knew from the second I stepped foot on the grass that the island was deserted. There were no birds tweeting, or flying amongst the hundreds of trees surrounding the west side of the island. No houses, no animals, not a soul. I took off my knee high boots and began to pick off the seaweed from them. I couldn't keep my mind off what had just happened. I was innocently making my way through Eversong Woods when I was attacked by a huge black blur. It swooped down through the trees and chased me through to Silvermoon City. I remembered running along the road, weaving in and out of people who seemed to be oblivious to the blur. As I ran I felt my energy being drained from me. I slowed to a gentle jog, then a walk. I couldn't breathe, the air refused to enter my mouth. I was trying to gasp for air but I must of seemed like a fish out of water. I panicked and fell to my knees whilst the blur hovered above me. People began to stare at me, but did nothing. Then the blur transformed into a huge white light. It was so intense that I closed my eyes and covered my face. I screamed as it devoured me painlessly. Next thing I knew I was lying on the bottom of the seabed amongst a pile of bones. I must of been dead because I could breathe, and I was underwater. The even scarier part was the pile of bones were skeletons, hundreds of corpses lay around me. I ran along the bottom of the seabed, which was like running out of water, except a lot faster. It was surprising how quickly I could cut through the water. I didn't know where I was going but I just wanted to get away. As I hoped over the bodies they seemed to get fresher. No more skeletons, but the bodies of people I knew, all of the same race. Banshee's. There were all types of us. Guards, Warriors, Civilians, Royalty etc. I stopped for a second as my eyes fell upon a Guard. His uniform was torn to pieces but I could still recognise the Banshee Badge. His eyes and mouth were closed. And I realised that they all were. In fact if I wasn't mistaken there was a small smile on their faces. They weren't gory, decapitated, bodies. They were resting. At peace forever at the bottom of the sea. All except for me. For I was very much alive, well conscious. I continued to make my way towards shore in search for others like me.
And there I was stranded on the island, alone, apart from the resting bodies of my entire race and civilisation.
