I was staring up at my ceiling,
Unable to sleep
When I suddenly heard
Critters creep
Small but hairy,
Many legs,
And colored black,
They were quite scary.
First it was one,
One became two,
Two became four
These creepy bugs crept up from under my floor.
One by one,
They began to climb my bed
Traveling across my body,
It sure was alarming
Initially I shook them off,
Terrified
But they seemed to multiply,
Their small bodies began to cover mine
And with their little teeth,
They pierced my skin
Shaking them off proved ineffective
My blood bled from within
Swiftly working,
They crawled into my skin
Tickling my veins,
They were driving me insane.
My head fell back as they swarmed inside
Deliriousness overtook my mind
As they crawled in and out of my eyes,
Their bodies poisoned my unconscious mind.
Colors burst
Stars darkened
My body shook
My body heated up then
In my desperate state
I got up in haste
And jumped in the shower
Ice cold water sprayed down
The only other sound
Was their bodies dropping to the ground
As the critters piled up at my feet,
They wriggled to get up
Before I smashed them down the drain
They died in defeat,
Setting me free.
