Better get this out before its too late. There were a lot of exceptional pieces here, it wasn't easy just creating a short list to select winners from. I'll start with the much coveted Rich Withey Civil Unrest Award:

Viking Horn with A Nation Betrayed. Yay, me! Of course, the prize for this is to be placed on a government watch list.

There have to be some honorable mentions because so much was so good. When it comes to betrayal, y'all were feelin it!

@wolfie had two fine stories, including the unbearable blend of tension and humor that only a closeted fart can bring in "Betrayed."

@misslittleDPH and @sjw each had interesting angles, with "Pit of Betrayal" showing the betrayers viewpoint, and "Your Eyes Don't Lie" offering an unexpected inversion.

@glen certainly offered the most appealing version in "Love This Betrayal"

@leelee101 and @RichWithey also had dramatically well written poems, "repayment" and "In the Cold Light of Day."

In third place, @MelchiorJ13 with the richly written "Toxic Trust"

In second place, @HeatherAnne with the enigmatic and captivating "The End Of The Knife"

And in first place, and with the most likes as well, the dashed hopes and dreams of @Burrfoot in "Betrayed."

Great job by everyone, and thanks to co-judge Rich Withey on this intercontinental competition effort!
