Who made this garden? I ask myself. I want it at my house! The checkout stand reminds me what I can not live without with glossy magazines on racks, seductively displayed. Just get it all and never mind the price that must be paid.

We should keep up with our choices and their consequences but all our time is swallowed up by "time saving devices." We don't expect to have the time for making real food, so buy a box of diabetes, 'cause it tastes so good!

Our weakness is distraction as we're pummeled rapid fire with images to envy, planting alien desires. Cheap and shiny trinkets glitter, piled up on shelves like a jungle overgrown, so that we forget ourselves.

Who made this garden that we're in? I foolishly once asked. We did, of course, and test ourselves. Are we up to the task?
