There was a sadness in his eyes, though it's depth could not be seen. Freedom only found in sleep, to sleep, a chance to dream.
To sail on open waters, to fly amongst the stars. A body formed from energy, not a body wrapped in scars.
Here he leapt unbounded. There he lay in pain. Every time he woke to feel, he hoped for sleep again.
Colourful was his subconscious, cold and white was the here and now. If only he could stay asleep, and never wake somehow.
If only he could be the man now locked inside his head. Instead of the broken vessel, wired up to a hospital bed.
