He looked up to the heavens, said a prayer to the old gods and smiled. Gripping tight his two handed battle axe, he could hear the beast had been riled.
He could feel its thunderous footsteps, he could smell its pungent scent. Gangaloonian stared at the mouth of the cave, as the beast made its darkened ascent.
Then, from out of the darkness, emerged the mighty beast. With its wild eyes locked on Gangaloonian, intent on the goblin to feast.
Gangaloonian started to tremble, but not from a sense of fear. He foamed at the mouth with a twitch and a shout, his berserker rage was near.
Now he stood before the monster, his eyes a bloodshot red. Mumbling unintelligible gibberish, his axe swinging round his head.
Many other goblins had gathered, to witness this incredible feat. Gangaloonian was their hero, and in combat he'd never been beat.
The monster took two paces forward, and gave Gangaloonian a sniff. With each nostril the size of the goblins head, such a beast should have scared him stiff.
But not the brave Gangaloonian, he just chopped at the beast with his axe. The monster then quickly retreated, cos it's dinner's not supposed to bite back!!
The problem now was Gangaloonian, lost to berserker rage. It took 52 goblins to catch him, and lock him up in a special cage.
It was just over a fortnight, until calm, the hero released. The goblins partied 'till daybreak, for Gangaloonian silenced the beast.
........ But somewhere in the darkness, in a cave where no Goblin goes, way down deep in its burrow, is a badger with a very sore nose.
