"What are you doing here dad?", the soldier said in shock, then he went and took a seat next to his father on a rock.
"I've come to bring you home son, I've come to hold your hand. I've come to take you far away, from this broken, war torn land".
"I don't know what you mean dad, but it's really dangerous here, my patrols been out all day dad, 'cos the Taliban are near!".
"Listen son, just follow me, see over there, that door? When we go through to the other side, this is someone else's war.".
They both then stood in silence, the soldier then did say, "I always hoped dad, that you'd get me out of here someday".
Although the soldier was confused, and did not understand, he just walked forward with his father, as he led him by the hand.
Back inside the green zone, the soldiers mail was read, "I'm sorry to inform you son, it's about your dad, he's dead.".
