Onward they came, ever onward, their ranks a mass of death. The foul wind that prevailed them, was enough to steal the breath.
Onward they came, ever onward, bringing darkness ever near. Although we where hardened warriors, our hearts where filled with fear.
Onward they came, ever onward, a silence took the land. Broken only by the beat of a drum, from a long forgotten hand.
Onward they came, ever onward, some soldiers broke, and ran. But I could not hold it against them, for this sight was not meant for man.
Onward they came, ever onward, and we could see the emptiness of their eyes. As they poured through our fragile column, the air was filled with screams and cries.
Onward they came, ever onward, as steel embedded in bone. As the fallen raised and joined their ranks, I stood amongst them... Alone.
Onward we went ever onward, leaving carnage in our wake. Although we are dead and decaying, we are dead, but we are Awake.
