His inbox was just bursting, as the offers kept coming in. He had only filled in one online form, then the deluge did begin.
Around the Xmas period, when money was pretty tight, he saw an online payday, and thought: "hey, this looks alright".
"They are gonna give me one hundred pounds, all I have to do is text!, then I'll pay it back with my benefits, from this month and the next!".
He did not set out to deceive them, his intention was to pay, he had thought his finances where sound, but they rarely stay that way.
Now the one hundred pound was one thousand, his phone was ringing off the hook. Red letters where falling thick and fast, but he daren't even look.
Now it was seventeen hundred, as his head was buried in sand. When he borrowed one hundred pounds from them, this wasn't what he had planned.
The debt it just kept spiralling, adding interest every day, and no matter how long his head stayed in the sand, the problem would not go away.
Next came the debt collectors, a couple of burley blokes, he said: "I just can't pay you, the amount you want is a joke!"
The big men where having none of it, and forced their way inside. Both of them wishing they hadn't, when he picked up a sword from the side.
It was a straight blade, live, katana, his dad had brought for his 30th year. A real "Kill Bill" replica, and he always kept the thing near.
Now they are buried in the garden, beneath an earthen mound, the men who came to take away, two grand for one hundred pound.
