The soft autumn breeze coiled around me. The brightly colored leaves seemed to dance around us. It was silent but beautiful on this wonderful October day. "Camille?" Mason stuttered. I twirled around happily. "Yes, Mason." I squealed. "Never mind." he croaked as his misty blue eyes softened. I could see he was nervous. 'But what could be so nerve-wracking on this fine fall day?' I pondered. We were all walking home from school. "Oooh!" Maya exclaimed, "Look at this pretty rock!" Mason, Alyssa, Kai, and I all shot our heads towards the ground. There it was. A turquoise, sparkling, gem with pointed edges lodged in the wet, dark dirt. "I don't think you should take that out." Alyssa muttered. "Aw, Lyss!" Kai laughed, "Don't be so scared!" He pulled it out of the ground. Suddenly, all I could see was bright white light. Nothing else.
