I just stood there, shocked, who would do this?!
The fawn nudged its mother, what was I supposed to do, if I carried on the fawn could possibly die, but if I took it home what would mother say...
For the time being I left her lying by her mother, I followed the path further.
I came to a barn, the rain had stopped, even though I was still soaked.
I had never seen this part of the woods before, but it didn't look old, the barn I mean.
I checked it out but it seamed pretty abandoned. I decided to return to the fawn, as I did so it started to rain again.
When I reached the big oak the doe had disappeared, only the fawn remained, using one of the big roots as shelter, I decided to try petting it, slowly I advanced towards it, not a muscle moved, when my hand reached its neck I was kneeling, she stood up and curled into my lap. She was shivering. I removed my coat and took off my jumper, I wrapped her tightly and she began to relax.
As I returned my coat to my body I picked the fawn up. I carried her all the way home.
When reaching the garden I didn't know what to do, did I tell mom or did I keep her a secret. I decided to tell mom.
As I got inside I unwrapped the fawn and she scuttled into the kitchen, oh no, this wasn't planned. I ran in after it and Benny was snuggling it already, great, she'll be smothered to death. I got mom and she instantly picked up the fawn and held it away from Benny. He cried.
"what do you think your doing with this" she asked, I had to explain everything.
