Have I left the window open?
What if I left the window open.
The cat might get in.
A burglar might get in.
A burglar might get in and stand on the cat.
The cat might get in and knock over the vase
Again.
The vase water might spill
Onto the lamp
And make a spark which starts a fire
The fire might destroy the house
The lamp, the vase, the cat and the burglar.
The RSPCA might sue me for cruelty to cats.
The burglar's family might sue me for window negligence.
I might get sent to prison
And the burglar's cat-loving mates
Might kill me
Then they will get longer sentences
And their children might suffer
My family might pine for me
So that they can't go on
I'd have done that to my family
They'd hate me for putting them through that.
Loss of me, and house and cat.
Maybe they wouldn't miss me at all.
They wouldn't. My family hates me now.
I bet they want me to go... Move out.
So I'll have to find somewhere else to live.
A new place where I can live in shame.
But what if, one day,
I go out of this new house
And leave the window open...?!
