We built ourselves an airship So vast in scope and scale The heights of flight, the width of dreams, The grace of humpback whale. Balloons and engines raised it up Propellers drove us on... They'll check our beds - find 'pillow-heads.' Look skyward. We are gone.

They'll wonder at The Fortinbras An airship twice unique: With sails cut from cirrus skins And panel carved in teak.

There's turrets, bridges and a pool Beneath the ship in glass So as we steer through skyscrapers The clerks can see your...attributes.

The garden room is two decks down Beside the fishing hatch, Where reels of over two miles long Make sharks or dreams your catch.

There's larder shelves for every taste. One million bottles of rum... A stage of electric jazz instruments So our aeronauts rattle and hum.

We've floating beds for sleepyheads For outside, if you wish. Tethered, sleeping in the clouds The skybeds shoal like fish.

And games on deck - just see the choice: There's vertical bumper cars, Drafty draughts and lightning dodge And guns for shooting stars!

So when your life is foul and grey And luck has run you through, Pack a case (long johns, in case) The gangplank's down for you.
