But we're waking to the pain

There must be some pity for the walkers in the rain.

Grimy nightroads are our halls

Telltale sun's our bane.

Welcome to the country of the walkers in the rain.

Some shuffle with a dufflecoat

Some hit the grape or grain

There must be some comfort for the walkers in the rain.

Some swear they smoke with antichrists

In the wet parks once again

There must be some company for walkers in the rain.

We claim our father's Everyman

And swear our brother's Cain.

Tell me roots might one day suit us walkers in the rain.

Don't offer me your bright doubloons

Or gold from the Spanish Main

You cannot buy the walker from the walker in the rain.

Some things the rain cannot wash clean

That heavy, greasy stain..

So what? I'd rather raise my head and fade into the rain.

The drizzle's licking at your neck

The hound pulls at his chain

The endless pavement's lonesome sweet -

Come walk it in the rain.
