We are the Unseen. We walk out of your stores With groceries and pillowcases And whatever-the-hell-else we want.

We somehow slipped, bemused, Between the cracks of dusk and day... Between the causal cushions of the universal sofa... The place, perhaps, where lost odd socks go.

We're unnoticed by the shopping population Adored by dogs and children We show up on cameras and in mirrors Like vampires in reverse.

We don't mean any harm But there are liberties to be taken We kiss the tender places of the sleeping ones we like And take nice things from under the noses of store detectives.

Don't make us angry. We will hide your car keys Piss in your coffee - even while you're sipping - Shave off eyebrows Tug at your shopping trolley Tear your bin bags Pluck out your arm-hairs And whisper irritating song lyrics Into your dreaming ear.

So don't piss us off. Okay?
