Write a short story based on your favourite song, using the song’s title as your story’s title and the lyrics for your plot.
Ben stood there waiting. Just like he did every day. Waiting. He believed that half of his life was just filled with waiting. But he wanted to be doing something, and not just standing around waiting for something to happen to him. He wanted to be proactive. He wanted to go far but he just waited. He hated the old adage that all good things come to those who wait. In his opinion, that was created by someone with no vision what so ever. I was a man of vision, a man who was going places. And maybe filled with a few of his own clichés. But he knew that standing around never did anyone any good. Suddenly, in the distance he saw something, he couldn't completely make out what it was, but his heart began to beat just that little bit faster. He felt like Tony in West Side Story. He knew something was coming and he knew it was going to be great. Though he wasn't looking for his Maria. No, he was looking for something much more important than that. He was waiting for the 33 bus. Was it the number 33 or was it the 35, so close but so far. His vision became clearer as the bus approached as he noticed the bus was indeed the 33. He saw the beautiful display showing his most favourite number in the world as he looked at her countenance so as her tires turned coming so close, his heart beat so much faster than it ever had before. With one quick step into the road, the wheels on the bus went round and round, the driver hit his horn and it beeped so for so long. And as the driver hit Ben, sending his body flying, the shock of the jolt woke some sleeping children who cried all day long.
