One of my first poems......kinda bad lol

Sounds as sweet as laughter Ringing through my ears Church bells chiming far away My eyes, they fill with tears

The salty tears fall from my eyes Across my cheeks they fall No more sadness, tears of joy And then I see the ball

Stripes of colors, red and blue Yellow pink and green Children bounce it up and down They bounce it right to me

I toss it back to lively children, Their stomachs full of bread I watch them run and play and sing Much livelier than dead

A bakery placed on the main street Welcoming to all The windows full of tasty treats I hear the bakers call

He says to me "come in my dear, And have a fresh baked pie. There's a secret, below crust A treat for you an I."

So I shared the pie with the friendly baker As we talked of memories Of old country, old friends And the lost family

Some memories were painful Like the bakers poor lost wife But some brought up warm laughs Like the lasting gift of life
