She couldn't speak, her tale too sad -one too long in another land.

Different cultures, different tongue, they cared less on how to carry on.

Two blind eyes, she couldn't see -deaf too against spoken currency.

Strapped to bed, dignity gone, in-out of hospital -not for long.

Excrement smears left on her skin, nurses left her like a bin.

Her cries not heard, her pleads lost -in another tongue no one sought.

Carers turn, create false words -to suffocate her in a lonely home.

Her words, her tongue -not taken in, the protection team could not win.

Ganged up by internal ties, threatened to just shush on by.

This sad tale true, the lady strong, yet still she couldn't keep fighting on.

Her heart failed, she bid farewell to all the suffering she was made to tell.

-This is based on a true account of events whilst I worked as a Support Worker. Fighting against a system to get results sadly does not always achieve what we aim for, we still should preserve.

This is my piece for today's Worlds Apart project subject. [Please see my previous Worlds Apart post got full details on this project.]

If you can tweet your pieces too, find me there (@ozlemyikici) and send it my way via a tweet then I can keep a better track of it if I decide to collate these on a blog. Hope that makes sense, if not please ask me. :)
