I was walking along the shore one day I picked up a rock and thew it away It fell in the ocean and sank all the way down Then I had a thought to throw in the rest of the ground
I dug and I shovelled, I swept and I threw When my arms were worn out, I sucked in deep breaths and blew The ocean started to fill and the land it did sink I started standing on water, or was it land, I couldn't think
After many years of shovelling and throwing The ocean was filled and the land it was flowing Where once there was land, now all was sea And where there was ocean, there landed the green
Someone called Jesus once walked on the wild open sea Now I can too, but it's grass and it's green Perhaps he once changed things round just like me And now I've changed it back the way it should be
Now only if I could put the sea in the sky The birds'd swim and we'd see an octopus fly by Or if I put the ground in the sky and the sky in the ground I'd make mozzies walk and bug them as I flew around
Now the cows fly by and the whales walk the land I walk on water and so everything is just grand Now all that I've changed makes me careful what I do As I think what I've done I look up and see an elephant doing a poo!
I know I get confused but that's what you get When you harvest beauty from nature they ought to chase you with a net How can we dig up nature without a second thought And then complain when we end up with naught!
