4 October 2012

Hello again and today is Wednesday, October 3, 2012. I'm feeling a bit informative today and want to inform about accents. The different ways we converse and speak, the irregularities and how when you think someone has an accent, they always insist that it is you, not them, who has an accent. For example some English people say thier words with a wierd "t" almost as others would pronounce a hyphen in "uh-oh". Or how the English language has no plural for "you" and parts of America like the south adopt terms like "yall" to fill that lexical gap, wheras other places use "y'uns" or "yous guys". Now some languages have very distinct accents like Deutsch (German) which ignores the "w" and "j" sound, instead using "v" and "y" respectively. Another thing to consider is that accents developed on small islands have an even more unique sound to them because the islands are smaller and more secluded from other accents's influence.

As always,

ZenMercury, Keep calm, und gute nacht.
