30 October 2012
Hello again, today is Monday, October 29, 2012. The eye, the calm; they have passed. The rain came and went without much of a struggle. Other states could not say the same. New York, New Jersey, and many other states' families have to cope with the force of this storm and the loss of a loved one. I count myself lucky that I don't have to say the same. The last bands of the storm are coming. I hear the wind whistle and the rain play drumbeats on our roof. The experiance has, still does, and probably will always feel as if I'm watching it unfoil from afar. Watching from a not-so-distant-future. Or maybe from a lifetime away in a lonely room by a projector that plays the images with slow somber guitar music and a slight Instagram tint. I don't think I can ever say I lived in the same time as a hurricane, because I removed myself from this time. But I will, when my kids or friends I meet that were not affected, say that; yes, I lived through Sandy. But I haven't and don't know all the details, just little puzzle pieces that I hope I'll be able to fashion into a full picture when I see others' puzzle pieces.
As always,
ZenMercury, Keep calm, and the hurricane is near its end.
