12 November 2012

Hello again, today is Sunday, November 11, 2012. As if all of you haven't heard me ramble about Hurricane Sandy enough, I'm going to talk about her again. Just this weekend I was at my dad's house, and we drove through the town so I could see the damage. He lives in New Jersey, mind you not in the horribly ravaged portions, but in a fairly damaged area. Coming from a nearly untouched Delawarean area, I was in awe when I saw the damage. Now I know I wouldn't be the first to tell you this but seeing the damage first hand where you are just feet away holds more of an impact than any screen could. Down one street there used to be a plethora of pine trees. Now you see the sides of the street lined with innumerable fragments of the once strong trees. Even though the car can keep out smells pretty well, I could swear that I was able to smell bits and pieces of a pine odor. Then down another street there was a gas station sign bent at a left, backwards, upwards, and almost cartoonish angle. It looked as is someone took a scene out of Loony Toons and placed it in the middle of real life. People are calling Sandy the storm of the century, but I hope that she's more like the storm of the millennia, because I don't want anyone to suffer like how those did woth Sandy.

As always,

ZenMercury, Keep calm, and seeing is definitely beliving.
