Mother, where are you,
when I part wake.
Entombed in shadows grey.
Slumbered dreams
of memories old,
dissolve and fade away.
I miss that love,
the comfort known,
from child to man
with sadness grown.
I miss the warmth,
of heart and soul, which
wrapped a childhood true.
Your faith in life,
the reassuring care,
within me duly grew.
but in this slumber,
you fade again,
to the god you knew
to grey,
and gone.
