Hey, Monkey Tree Beneath the wood Dome of your arms Your summer glade With strong, low bows Where small we played And kept at bay The world while leaping
Branch to branch In death escaped Little moments Base Tree home Leafy Tardis Summer's rain Fallen twice On lightened brow
Running Tree Behind the plot You were my slip Organic ship From snapping down Or growing up Adventure for The ever-young
Fear on the perch Full rotten through My grip misled Misplaced in you My hiding place With unsound core Bones buried near The graveyard wall
Blasted Trunk From childhood plains Where once we ate Then made our game Indian Town Alien World The Powerdice And, lastly: Girls
Somehow entwined With all these trees Or one that grew Near Brackenlese Cut down to stump Yet still you'll see Our names engraved The roots go deep
