If you can see the failing In pushing till you bleed Endeavour beyond common sense You should have been his seed Planted in a garden He tended twenty years Effort in and progress out You'll get just what you need
His passion for the common man And how to make things work Complacency's your enemy We live, we toil, we learn Of trains as just a little boy Of walls and dust as man If you can pick your tools and mend With well worn, practiced hands
He's a good guy Always cared for his family Watching the coppers Deft with his hands Time and praise for the family man He's a good guy Taking his time Nothing to waste At the head of the line Nothing to chance Quit the horses and shook Labeled an eye Did the best that he could
