My days were very repetitive. Get up, drink, eat, hunt for any birds that may have flown into the enclosure, growl at the crowds, etc. but what did make my days more interesting was this: Hurricane was taking an interest in me. He wasn't pretending for the crowds, he was actually watching me all through the day, and all through the night. I wondered if this was love, or if this was Hurricane planning to eat me.
After a tiresome repetitive day, I curled up into a ball, and fell to sleep. Only I was awoken suddenly for something had just thumped against my side. I stood up cautiously, my tail swishing from side to side. I couldn't see anything. And then I heard it. "Ailsa. You know you're even more beautiful at night." who was it? Where was it coming from? It was like the voice was coming inside my head. I tried to shout, to ask who was there, but all that came out was growls and roars. "Don't speak. Just say the words in your head." The voice said. Was this a joke? Was this some visitor having a laugh? "Ailsa, it's not a joke." I heard the voice again. 'Who are you?' I thought, my head jolting from side to side, trying to pinpoint where the voice was coming from. It couldn't come from my head. "I'm Hurricane. We can talk to each other using telepathy. Like we're doing now. You won't pinpoint where my voice is coming from, because you're hearing it in your mind." Said the voice in a slightly aggravated tone. 'How do I know this isn't a trick?' I thought. "You will now." said the voice. And with that, Hurricane padded out from the enclosure, purring slightly. He made his way over to me, and he nuzzled my nose. That moment of connection, it told me this was the truth. I could talk to Hurricane.
