I'm in bed so early
I've turned off every light,
Darkness surrounds me
Here, in the still of the night.
The clock drags forward
Yet sleep still evades me,
Feeling ever haggard
Wishing for slumber so deeply.
My eyes feel so heavy
And my body goes numb,
I try to get comfy
But I'm consumed by boredom.
Dawn fast approaches
And not a wink I've slept,
Tomorrow I'll be in pieces.
Sleep seems such a foreign concept.
